Sam Bayer featured at Monday’s open mic night
Sam Bayer will be the featured performer at this month’s LOMA (Lincoln Open-Mic Acoustic) on Monday, June 8 from 7-10 p.m. in the Lincoln Public Library’s Tarbell Room. He’ll perform a half-hour set starting around 8:30 p.m. Bayer has performed at First Night, Passim’s, Sally O’Briens, the Nameless Coffeehouse and other venues and has four CDs to his credit.
LOMA is a monthly event supported in part by the Friends of the Lincoln Library. Performers can sign up at the event or email Rich Eilbert at mailto:loma3re@gmail.com before noon of the open-mike date for a slot. Names of those who signed up by 7:15 are drawn at random. In case of overflow, the first 20 performers to sign up will be given priority. We have a sound system with mikes and instrumental pickups suitable for individuals or small groups.
LOMA will be on hiatus in July and August, but fall performers include Stephen Collins in September and Joanne Lurgio in October.

Boomers invited to another meeting to reimagine the COA
The Council on Aging hosted a lively, enthusiastic, and fruitful discussion on May 28 about how better serve those who are 50s-ish and beyond. In fact, the group decided that they would like to continue the discussion once more before breaking for the summer and then having more meetings in the fall. The date of this continuation meeting will be Tuesday, June 16 at 8:15 am. All are welcome, whether you attended the May 28 meeting or not. The topic of the discussion will be outreach: How can the COA improve how they get information out about their programs? What other channels should they be using to let people know about what they offer? What other ideas do you have? Please come and let them know what you think!
