Historic New England and the Lincoln Council on Aging are pleased to present a special talk and tour, “Portraits and Personalities: The Codman Portrait Collection,” at the Codman Estate, 34 Codman Road, on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10–11 a.m. From high-end works by John Singleton Copley and Gilbert Stuart, to others by once-famous artists, to humble family snapshots, the Codman portrait collection extends over 200 years of changing styles. Hear the real stories of the people behind these pictures, both the subjects and the artists. Lincoln residents free of charge. $15 Historic New England members, $20 nonmembers. All are required to register. Call 617-994-6690 or register online at www.historicnewengland.org. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Lincoln Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
