Lincoln firefighter assists in Milford

Lt. Scott Christensen of the Lincoln Fire Department was among the responders from several towns involved on July 25-26 in the search and recovery of a body of a teen who drowned in a Milford quarry. He serves as a shift commander handling vehicle maintenance and fire prevention and has trained alongside regional mutual aid partners as part of the Massachusetts District 14 hazardous/ice rescue and dive units.

Community reading of the U.S. Constitution

The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Anti-Racism Committee (IDEA) invites all residents, students in fifth grade and above, and staff to join in the second annual out-loud community read of the U.S. Constitution on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 7:00pm in the Lincoln School auditorium. Participants will take turns reading a section of the Constitution (total reading time is about an hour and a half to two hours). Contact Rob Stringer or Jennifer Glass if you would like to be a reader. You don’t have to read to participate; a supportive audience is always welcome. Click here to see last year’s event.

Friends and family puzzle tournament
Thursday, July 30 from 6:30-8:00pm
Friends and families are invited to complete a jigsaw puzzle in a fun, friendly tournament. Each team will be assigned a table with a 300-piece puzzle to be opened when the tournament begins.

Family board games
Monday, Aug. 3 from 4:00–5:30pm
We will provide a variety of games for kids and adults to play together but we also welcome you bringing a family favorite to introduce to others. Registration is encouraged to make sure we have enough games and enough people to play, but drop ins day of are welcome.

Why the sea cries? A bilingual Cinderella storytelling event
Wednesday, Aug. 5 from 11:00am–12:00pm
Karina Liendo will share the tale of a Brazilian Cinderella and her unique sister, whose support helps her through difficult times and leads her to true love. After the story, we’ll reinforce Spanish vocabulary as we sing, play, and do a craft. Registration required.

Wednesday to Thursday, Aug. 5–6 (all day)
Visit as many area libraries as you can and take a picture of yourself with a designated item (or two items) in each library — it’s a scavenger hunt! More information.

Craft a two-dimensional needle-felted design of a pleasingly plump panda with bamboo. Registration required.
