For Minuteman, it’s one down, 15 to go

January 26, 2016

mm1In the sprint to get approvals for the revised Minuteman High School regional agreement, Arlington got the ball rolling with a Special Town Meeting (STM) vote in favor of the new deal on January 25.

rlington residents approved the revised regional agreement by a vote of 178-5. Lincoln will vote on the agreement and also whether to withdraw from the school district on February 23.

All 16 towns must ratify the new agreement at an STM by March 1. If even one town votes down the new regional agreement, the existing agreement stands—meaning withdrawal and some other issues must be approved unanimously.

Minuteman has posted a series of documents on its website relating to the votes on the regional agreement, including:

  • A side-by-side comparison of versions of the regional agreement
  • A lengthy FAQ
  • A schedule for the 16 STMs
  • Three years of enrollment figures
