Christopher “CJ” Dwyer of Littleton, a seventh-grade special-education student at the Lincoln School, died on April 25. Lincoln School K-4 Principal Steve McKenna made the announcement to school families in an email Monday morning.
Dwyer, 13, had muscular dystrophy and was on a ventilator, said Ashley Willson, his CASE teacher. (CASE is the Concord Area Special Education collaborative, which pools resources to provide special education services for children in the area.)
Citing student privacy issues, McKenna declined to comment on the cause of Dwyer’s death.
“In his years at Lincoln School, his spirit and determination touched many members of our K-8 community, including students and faculty,” McKenna said in his email.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, May 2 at 11 a.m. from the Badger Funeral Home at 347 King St. in Littleton.
