FoMA: Architectural photographer Mark Römisch

Please join the Friends of Modern Architecture (FoMA) at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum on Thursday, June 4 at 6 p.m. for a conversation with award-winning German photographer Mark Römisch — the first in a series aimed at deepening our understanding of cultural impulses in the world around and within us. His presentation will feature photographs from his upcoming book Bauhaus New England – Portraits of an Architectural Legacy that examines modernist houses connected to the Bauhaus Movement in dialogue with the New England landscape. Mark views architectural photography not just as an exercise in documentation but as a poetic exploration of built spaces and the natural environment around them.

The series will continue in the fall with an invitation to meet with artists to see what they see and hear what they hear, followed by discussion and an opportunity to interpret and explore the connections which bring us together in cultural understanding.
