Fern walk
Fern enthusiasts Ellen and Jim Meadors return for a much-anticipated fern walk on Thursday, May 28 from 10:00am–noon. Often overlooked, ferns are some of the most fascinating plants in our forests. They are ancient plants that have been thriving on Earth for hundreds of millions of years and pre-date flowering plants.
We’ll take a slow, relaxed pace, stopping often to examine different fern species up close and learn what makes them unique. Participants will leave with basic fern ID terminology, a better eye for spotting key features, and the tools to begin identifying ferns on their own.
Register here; location will be emailed to registrants. Bring water, sun protection, tick protection, etc. No dogs, please — our focus will be on nature.
