Join us to light the Christmas tree in front of the church after the Touch of Christmas Fair. We’ll get in the mood with some holiday carols and enjoy hot chocolate. Santa says he’ll swing by and say Hello or maybe Ho Ho Ho!

Since 2017, John Calabria has been leading walks on Lincoln conservation land to people of all ages who want to enjoy a gently paced, observation-focused exploration of nature. Free and open to all. Registration is encouraged but not required. Registered participants will receive an email reminder a week before each walk and on the day of the walk with detailed parking directions and weather updates. More information and updates will be posted on this page. Those who prefer a phone call/text reminder can request this service from the Council on Aging & Human Services by calling 781-259-8811.

Grab your flashlight and search for hundreds of candy canes hidden around Pierce Park on Friday, Dec. 9 from 6–7 p.m. Participants will start off the event by decorating a candy cane bag while music and hot cocoa are available. Then we’ll get our flashlights and head into the park to hunt for candy canes. Keep your eye out because you may even find a special candy cane with a prize-winning ribbon! Bring your own flashlight. Free, but online preregistration with the Parks and Recreation Department is required.

LincFam (the Lincoln Family Association) will host a New Year’s dance party on Friday, Dec. 30 from 4–6 p.m. at the First Parish in Lincoln’s parish house (the stone church) with family-friendly dance music, crafts, and pizza. January is National Radon Action Month, Michael Feeney, director of the Indoor Air Quality Program at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, will give a presentation on radon health risks, testing, and mitigation on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lincoln Public Library’s Tarbell Room. His talk will address residents’ health regarding exposure to radon that may accumulate in their homes and provide radon health and exposure reduction information to interested residents. Feeney has conducted over 1,800 indoor air quality investigations in schools, office buildings, libraries, courthouses, town halls, firehouses, police stations and homes throughout Massachusetts.

Lincoln residents ages 6 months and up may get free flu and Covid-19 vaccinations at a clinic on Friday, Jan. 27 from 4–7 p.m. in the Reed Gym. Advance registration required.

Insight Boston, a not-for-profit organization that offers personal growth and development seminars for “teaching practical ways to live from your heart,” will host a rock ‘n roll dance party at Bemis Hall on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 6:30–10 p.m. Graduates of Insight Seminars, their friends and loved ones, and Lincoln residents are invited. This adult-only (18+) event is free.

The Council on Aging & Human Services presents “The Truth About Women and Heart Disease” with moving testimony by Margaret Perras, spokesperson for the American Heart Association, on Friday, Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. in Bemis Hall. Heart disease strikes even the most fit — learn how to watch for the signs. Attendees are invited to wear red and help raise awareness for the #1 killer of women: cardiovascular disease. Questions? The Lincoln Girl Scouts will host a Kindergarten Daisy Launch on Monday, Feb. 13 from 6:15–7:15 p.m. in the Lincoln Public Library Tarbell Room. At this free session, your kindergartener will have fun exploring the magic of space and creating a rubber-band-powered Daisy Cup Launcher while adults discuss when and where the troop will meet, parent involvement, and the goals for the year as well as fill out required paperwork. ​​​​​​​Click here to learn more and confirm your attendance.

The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Antiracism (IDEA) Committee will hold a public forum on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln School Learning Commons. Learn about the group’s work to date, plans for the coming year, and community engagement opportunities. This is a hybrid meeting, so you may join us in person or online over Zoom (passcode: 638410).

Families will groove to children’s songs, oldies, and a few pop favorites. Best for ages 6 and under, but all kids who like to dance are welcome. Drop in.

All residents, especially parents and grandparents who are watching children during school vacation week, are invited to an intergenerational ice cream social on Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 1–2:30 p.m. in Bemis Hall. Build your own sundae!

The Awesome Robb Show is more than just a magic show; it’s a show that entertains everyone and will have you laughing right from the start. No registration necessary. Best for ages 4 and up but all are welcome.

• Lincoln School teacher and social justice activist Claudia Fox Tree — Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.
• Leah Penniman, co-founder of Soul Fire Farm and author of Black Earth Wisdom — Wednesday, March 8 at 7 p.m.
• José G. González, founder of Latino Outdoors and co-founder of the Outdoorist Oath — Wednesday, March 29 at 7 p.m.

The free speaker series, which launched in 2021, seeks to feature individuals whose work is advancing efforts to strengthen belonging and connection between communities of color and the outdoors.
