To the editor:
There is a gas pipeline leak under Bedford Road near First Parish. The smell of gas is a regular part of walking to church. The congregation has noticed this and talked about this for years. Each time it is discussed we remember the last time we called the gas company and nothing happened. Could this leak be coming from the large gas main the writer referred to in a recent letter?
Sincerely,
Lewis Lloyd

I’m relatively new to Lincoln (couple years) and immediately noticed the gas leak on Bedford Road by the library. The gas is so strong it fills the car and I have to open the windows every time I drive by. I have reported it to the gas company and the town as well. I was told it was NSTAR’s responsibility. But as you say, nothing seems to have been done. I recently heard NSTAR is changing their name to Eversource Energy, not sure how that reflects their company structure or effectiveness. I hope we can find another way to address or report the situation. I believe it’s enough gas to be dangerous and certainly unhealthy. I look forward to any developments on this topic.
Sincerely,
Damian
