Our quintessential, small-town event is led by Parade Marshall Becky Eston, retiring kindergarten teacher. Becky has been a Lincoln School teacher and community treasure for the past 39 years. This is our chance to honor her dedication, compassion and talent as an educator, so please join us to send her off to retirement in high style!
Parking is available in the Ballfield Road campus for $20/car. Enjoy a cookout from Wildfire BBQ, ice cream vendors, and a soulful performance from JP and Friends. Food is served at 7 p.m. and music starts at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. Concert and fireworks will be held in light rain, but in case of extreme weather, will be postponed to Friday, July 5. Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary’s Friday evening music series invites people of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate local music, local food, and community-based environmental action starting on Friday, June 28. The eclectic mix of folk, bluegrass, Americana, and rock throughout the summer is sure to have something for everyone.
In addition to live music, the concert series will feature various lawn games and climate-related activities for kids and adults to learn how they can make a difference in their own communities. Concert goers are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and a picnic dinner to relax on the lawn and enjoy the music. Ice cream and nonalcoholic beverages will be available for sale.
All shows are from 6–9 p.m. (the lawn opens at 5:30). Tickets are $15 for adults age 13 and older and free for children 12 and under (maximum $45 per family). Click here to purchase tickets.

Thanks to the Perkins Library, the COA is proud to offer a Games Afternoon featuring games specially created for those with vision impairments. Come on down to Bemis Hall to play Scrabble (2x Braille), Sudoku (1x Braille), Cribbage (1x Braille), checkers (2x Braille), and Monopoly (1x Braille and large print) on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. If you have some games at home you would like to bring in, that’s fine, too!

The Lincoln Land Conservation Trust’s “Noticing Walks” with John Calabria return on Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 1–2:30 p.m. Meet at the Lincoln Station parking lot to walk to Farm Meadow and into Bergen-Culver conservation land. Subsequent walks will be on October 1 and November 5 (locations TBA; visit www.lincolnconservation.org). These gently paced walks are a great way to slow down, unplug, and enjoy nature. Walks are co-sponsored with the Lincoln Council on Aging and geared towards 55+ but all are welcome. In case of inclement weather, call the LLCT at 781-259-9251 after 10 a.m. on the morning of the walk for information.
